Happy Belated Pensive Saturday

Dear Readers,

On Saturday, i attempted to post to this blog from the washateria on my phone.  But alas, my post is lost in the interwebs.  It appeared nowhere, so apparently, i did something wrong.  Please accept my apologies.

I hope you won't be disappointed if we review our most recent holiday a little more.  I really wanted to share with you a post that my friend, Angela, wrote on Good Friday.  It really touched me, and it's just beautiful, and i think everyone should read it.

On Resurrection Day, i got to celebrate the Passover Seder with family (which, for anyone who wonders, has everything to do with Jesus), and it was a blessing.

I've never heard  what the name for the Saturday between Good Friday and Resurrection morning is, so i called it Pensive Saturday (that's the day i was trying to post from the laundromat).  So happy belated Pensive Saturday, everybody!  And have a wonderful Tuesday too!

    Great link! I think the Saturday between Good Friday and Easter is called Holy Saturday, but I could be wrong. I like the whole idea of Pensive Saturday..."What happens next??"

    I had never thought about what the Saturday might be called, but my girl and I were talking about that over the weekend... what a long, long (and sad) day that must have been for the followers of Jesus.

    I was thinking that too. I was also thinking that Sunday is really only two days after Friday, so they must have had a whole other day of waiting and wondering and grieving.

Let me start by saying that i am NOT an expert in bread-making.  I like to make bread, and my husband likes me to make bread, and i have messed up a lot of bread.  Also i have done a lot of reading and experimenting to learn how to stop messing up the bread. This i will share with you. Today i made basic white bread from a very old Betty Crocker cook book, and i took pictures for you. Every yeast bread recipe made with kneaded dough has certain elements to it, and the following very few tips can be used with any of them......no matter what the recipe says you should do. Ridiculous Ads for $100 Please

If you use Facebook, you may have noticed a vertical row of advertisements on the right hand column of your profile page that can be very entertaining. If you're not a Facebook user, please keep reading, i'll fill you in. Here's one of those ads: The heading reads "Women Born in 70s Look 25" . First of all, i take issue with that particular phenomenon being very miraculous, but let me know how this works for you. When i click on this link i learn about a middle-aged woman named Cara, who used to have wrinkles. Cara was 43 years old (NOT born in the 70s) when she stumbled upon a miracle cure for aging and wrinkles, blah, blah, blah. The most interesting thing about Cara is that she just happens to live in Coldspring, Texas. Can you believe it? I live in Coldspring, Texas! I have to admit that if i lived in say, Houston, or Spring, or The Woodlands, i would probably not have thought much about some random woman who discovered the fountain of youth coincid...
