Kaibash

Today, i am sick.

I don't like sick.  Sick really gets in my way.

But i have a lovely husband who understands and is lying low with me instead of our previously scheduled activities, which involved not lying low.

This gives me opportunity for a brief update on life here in Rogers Country.

Updates:

  • It turns out that ducks like to go for long walks in heavy traffic, and this habit can be detrimental to their health. We are re-thinking the duck operation
  • The vending business got the Kaibash put on it, almost before it started walking, because sometimes corporate offices think things are conflicts of interests that we do not think are conflicts of interests.  We are looking for a buyer for the vending machine.
  • The keyhole garden, that some of you have asked about, is on a temporary hold because the sun doth blaze.  I'm working up my courage to get out there in the heat and getter done, but it's not happening today.
  • My lettuce in the window is lovely, but i think it needs more sunlight to thrive.  I'm trying to think of a place to put it where the remaining ducks won't eat it.

Deep and mushy stuff:

I think that that i may look back on right now and recognize it as a very significant time in my life, and i can't even tell you why.

Well, i mean, i could tell you.  Or i could try.  But some things need to be kept in the still of the heart to ferment and mature and whatnot.

Like Mary, who "pondered these things in her heart."  Some things need to sit there a while.

I can tell you that the deep inside of my soul is undergoing a remodel.  And my mind is undergoing a complete paradigm shift.  I'm being rearranged in regard to purpose, in regard to life, in regard to how i view every activity.  It's a deep and powerful change that will probably drip out, bit by bit, in various posts from now to yonder.

For now, i am simply thankful for, and in awe of, the patience and gentleness of God and how He really answers the prayers we pray to be changed by His hand.

I am in awe of how far He has brought me, and even more in awe of how very far i have to go.  Perhaps i needed to see the former to believe that the latter could be possible.

Today:

Today, i will rest, and if i can keep my nose from running out of my head, i have in mind to make some amazing popovers, with blueberries.  Like i used to.  Because my wonderful family peeps gave me fresh picked blueberries.  And because i have been thinking about popovers for a while now.  But i will have to read my own recipe on my blog to remember how.   Follow the link, and you can read it too.  It's really yummy.   This should be fun.

And yummy.
