Short post

For inquiring minds, a quick update.

My broody chicken started hatching sometime today, while i wasn't paying any attention.  And she's still hatching cute little babies as we speak.  She had 11 eggs as of yesterday, one sweet baby hatched, then somehow died, so there are 10 possible hatches to oogle over tomorrow.

And now i'm going to bed so i'll be fresh in the morning for our Second Summer Slaughter (SSS'10).

    Good luck on your slaughter, I wish I had the guts to do this, maybe one day.

Let's Break Bread

Let me start by saying that i am NOT an expert in bread-making.  I like to make bread, and my husband likes me to make bread, and i have messed up a lot of bread.  Also i have done a lot of reading and experimenting to learn how to stop messing up the bread. This i will share with you. Today i made basic white bread from a very old Betty Crocker cook book, and i took pictures for you. Every yeast bread recipe made with kneaded dough has certain elements to it, and the following very few tips can be used with any of them......no matter what the recipe says you should do. Ridiculous Ads for $100 Please

If you use Facebook, you may have noticed a vertical row of advertisements on the right hand column of your profile page that can be very entertaining. If you're not a Facebook user, please keep reading, i'll fill you in. Here's one of those ads: The heading reads "Women Born in 70s Look 25" . First of all, i take issue with that particular phenomenon being very miraculous, but let me know how this works for you. When i click on this link i learn about a middle-aged woman named Cara, who used to have wrinkles. Cara was 43 years old (NOT born in the 70s) when she stumbled upon a miracle cure for aging and wrinkles, blah, blah, blah. The most interesting thing about Cara is that she just happens to live in Coldspring, Texas. Can you believe it? I live in Coldspring, Texas! I have to admit that if i lived in say, Houston, or Spring, or The Woodlands, i would probably not have thought much about some random woman who discovered the fountain of youth coincid...
