Because i knew that i knew, and i know that i know that you are the one God made me for and made for me.
Because you looked at me like i was the most delightful thing you had ever seen.
Because when you still look at me that way, i feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.
Because you've never stopped looking at me that way.
Because walking hand-in-hand with you is my favorite place in the world, no matter where it is.
Because my mother was right when she said i'd never be bored.
Because when i'm with you, my heart knows i'm home.
I love you.  I am passionately grateful to know you as my husband.
You're my gun-slingin' super hero and my very best good friend.  
We're like peas and carrots, and i'm so glad i married you.

These are my two favorite wedding pictures.  The second one is a wonderful double exposure of us walking up to and lighting our bonfire (unity candle) with our tiki torches.  Just thought i would share it.


Today, we celebrated by joining family to watch the Texans beat the pants off the Redskins in overtime.  It was a scintillating game, and GSSH said he got the best birthday present with that game.  



Since we just had some chicks hatch, i loaded up about half of them and took them along for the festivities. Children love baby chicks (so do i), and i my niece and nephew especially do.  This is my beautiful niece, BrookeLyne, entertaining the chicks while everyone else watched football.  They were a very big hit, and i think they were happy to get home.


OHEMMGEE!  I almost forgot.

This is my birthday pen from my in-laws!
My picture here absolutely does not do it justice, but it is beautiful in person.  My in-laws have a lathe and carve pens out of wood and acrylic.  They're really beautiful, and i'm giving them a plug here because they just set up their own Etsy shop, SNSPens.  My sister-in-law, DeAnna, whose photographic talents i have oft praised, took very nice pictures of many of their designs for the Etsy site, so you'll be able to see what they really look like.  Check 'em out.

Let's Break Bread

Let me start by saying that i am NOT an expert in bread-making.  I like to make bread, and my husband likes me to make bread, and i have messed up a lot of bread.  Also i have done a lot of reading and experimenting to learn how to stop messing up the bread. This i will share with you. Today i made basic white bread from a very old Betty Crocker cook book, and i took pictures for you. Every yeast bread recipe made with kneaded dough has certain elements to it, and the following very few tips can be used with any of them......no matter what the recipe says you should do. Tip #1, Take Your Temperature :  The recipe will tell you to take a liquid, usually water or milk, and dissolve the yeast in it.  Usually the recipe says something like "warm water," or "almost hot to the touch," or something else i can't properly decipher with my finger tips.  So i use a wonderful modern invention called a thermometer.   The two types of yeast readily available in th...

Ridiculous Ads for $100 Please

If you use Facebook, you may have noticed a vertical row of advertisements on the right hand column of your profile page that can be very entertaining. If you're not a Facebook user, please keep reading, i'll fill you in. Here's one of those ads: The heading reads "Women Born in 70s Look 25" . First of all, i take issue with that particular phenomenon being very miraculous, but let me know how this works for you. When i click on this link i learn about a middle-aged woman named Cara, who used to have wrinkles. Cara was 43 years old (NOT born in the 70s) when she stumbled upon a miracle cure for aging and wrinkles, blah, blah, blah. The most interesting thing about Cara is that she just happens to live in Coldspring, Texas. Can you believe it? I live in Coldspring, Texas! I have to admit that if i lived in say, Houston, or Spring, or The Woodlands, i would probably not have thought much about some random woman who discovered the fountain of youth coincid...
