RATM
RATM stands for Rage Against The Minivan. Rage Against The Minivan is the name of a blog i follow, written by a woman named Kristen, whose blog i have been following ever since i saw her and her husband on The View (which i almost never watch, but happened to watch that day) talking about adoption, a subject that interests me a great deal.
Why am i telling you this? O.k., i'm getting to that.
One of Kristen's aims in life in general and in her blog is to (i'm paraphrasing now) help rid the world of false stereotypes (as i understand it). To that end, she has begun a weekly series spotlighting the struggles of different folks in different situations who share what they want the world to know about their particular circumstance--a dispelling of stereotypes.
This week, Kristen published my entry in her series.
Don't worry; i'm about to give you a link, but before i do....i have to admit that i wrote my entry for Kristen's blog half in hopes that no one who actually knows me would ever read it. That's silly, i know. Apparently i thought i was writing to the non-confrontational imaginary public who have always been the audience in my head. What i'm saying is that my piece is very personal and very intimate and very not something i've ever been ready to talk about out loud. But i am willing to share in writing, if you are eager to read. If you're not ready for the warts and all version of me (or even a small bit of the warts of me), don't follow this link.

Otherwise, please click and read and realize that this is not just about me about many other women who also don't really ever talk about such things.
But the LORD said to Samuel, "Don't judge by his appearance or height . . .
The LORD doesn't make decisions the way you do!
People judge by outward appearance,
but the LORD looks at a person's thoughts and intentions.

Beth, have I told you lately that I think you are just the cat's meow? The best thing since sliced bread? Or whatever other trite and hackneyed saying we use to tell people we have never even met that we love them dearly and wish them every happiness.

ReplyDeleteSaw your post at RATM! Girl, WOW!!! I'm so amazed and proud of you! I'm a girl who struggles with my weight and have struggled for so long.
