A Time to Be Still

Before anything, it is my desire to honor God.  With my life, with my blogging, with my words, though i sometimes mess that up pretty good, it is my desire to honor God.

To that end, in response to what i believe to be the urgings of the Holy Spirit, i am about to get very quiet...blog wise.  After several years of blogging, and almost two years of blogging semi-daily (is that really a term?), i don't have anything to say but that i think the Lord wants me to get quiet.  And i don't think i'll be able to go to sleep until i obey.

Writing this blog has been a great joy to me, but to everything there is a season.

I have learned what it means to live with the consequences of disobedience, and  won't live there again if i can help it.  While i usually write here only once a day, it does take up many of my thoughts.  Perhaps the Lord wants to be more wrapped up in those thoughts than He has been.

I don't know.

I know i love Him, and i want to do what He wants because i know He sees the big picture, for real.

Thank you for reading.  There's lots to read still.  I've been blathering on here for years.

I will write again when i'm told.

Let's Break Bread

Let me start by saying that i am NOT an expert in bread-making.  I like to make bread, and my husband likes me to make bread, and i have messed up a lot of bread.  Also i have done a lot of reading and experimenting to learn how to stop messing up the bread. This i will share with you. Today i made basic white bread from a very old Betty Crocker cook book, and i took pictures for you. Every yeast bread recipe made with kneaded dough has certain elements to it, and the following very few tips can be used with any of them......no matter what the recipe says you should do. Ridiculous Ads for $100 Please

If you use Facebook, you may have noticed a vertical row of advertisements on the right hand column of your profile page that can be very entertaining. If you're not a Facebook user, please keep reading, i'll fill you in. Here's one of those ads: The heading reads "Women Born in 70s Look 25" . First of all, i take issue with that particular phenomenon being very miraculous, but let me know how this works for you. When i click on this link i learn about a middle-aged woman named Cara, who used to have wrinkles. Cara was 43 years old (NOT born in the 70s) when she stumbled upon a miracle cure for aging and wrinkles, blah, blah, blah. The most interesting thing about Cara is that she just happens to live in Coldspring, Texas. Can you believe it? I live in Coldspring, Texas! I have to admit that if i lived in say, Houston, or Spring, or The Woodlands, i would probably not have thought much about some random woman who discovered the fountain of youth coincid...
