Rocket Ship Christmas Decor

I finally got batteries for my camera today.  I have lots of things i want to take pictures of for you, such as how to successfully produce yeast bread.  But i wasn't in the mood to make any bread for you this evening, so i took pictures of our happy, simple Christmas decorations instead.

This is our little antique Christmas tree that i found in the attic.  I didn't put anything on it, ornament-wise, that doesn't have some significance.  You know, no boring round colored bulbs that came from Wal-mart and mean nothing to me.  I have plenty of those, but this is a tiny tree, and we can only see about a third of it, so i needed to be picky.  Sorry you can't really see them, but they're nice and simple and unflashy.

Then i went outside to take pictures of my house.  The lights GSSH put up are awesome, but i had a hard time capturing them very well with my camera.  This is the best option.  This picture makes my house look even tinier than it is.  I promise we really can turn around in there.  This picture also makes the lights look awfully dim.  But my choices were between this one and the next one.

This one, which makes it look a little like our house is about to take off into the heavens or burst into flames, or both.

So you can just know two things.  One, the lights on the house are pleasantly in between these two extremes, and two, i'm in the market for a new and wonderful camera that can take pictures of things and show what they really look like.

O.k. a third thing.  I'm really thankful the the camera that i have.  For sure.

Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe...
~Philippians 2:14-15~

Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who turn many to righteousness will shine like stars forever.

  1. Oh Beth, I love your tree and I love things on a tree that mean something. My mom’s tree is my favorite tree as it is loaded with old ornaments from her childhood, ornaments my mamaw and other relatives who’ve passed on have made by hand, things my sister and I made in grade school and now my nephews. It is full of family meaning and I love it. Your outside looks great. I love the star and I had to laugh about the bursting into flames comment--I chuckled out loud :)
