Withdrawing from Christmas

Christmas.

We celebrated with family and friends for three days straight.  It was really great.  I have really enjoyed the holidays this year.  And on the 27th, i went into withdrawal.

After more than a month of prioritizing baking, cooking, and crocheting projects for multiple family get-togethers, i found myself with nothing specific to bake, cook, or crochet for.  And it made me cry.

But i'm o.k. now.  I'm using the quietness of the last week of the year to write down some goals, make some plans, schedule the lives and deaths of multiple chickens, and get used to life at a little more normal pace.

Not too normal though.  I like getting things accomplished.

One of my goals for the new year is to investigate, and possibly follow through with, setting up an Etsy store for the sale of some of my crocheted items and possibly other things that i haven't made yet.

Here are some of the things i made for Christmas presents/stocking stuffers this year.

I made a dozen pairs of crocheted slippers, various sizes.  Making that many in a short period of time was great practice for me....learning certain styles that i like and how to make the slippers fit the best.  The more i do, the better i'll get.  Or at least i think it's supposed to work that way.

I also made quite a pile (more than is pictured) of usable, practical, crocheted potholders.  These things won't let any heat get through.  They're awesome!

I have a couple of hats to make, like the children's hats i made over here.

Another of the goals i have for the new year is to get back to regular blogging again.  I hope that is happy news.  =)  I don't remember what i used to write about every single day, so i hope you'll bear with me as i get used to regular writing again.

I am truly looking forward to the new year, which is only a couple of days away.  I am sure that God has great things in store, and i'm excited to encounter them.

  1. It is VERY happy news. You are a bright light to me, and it has been a little dim without you in my life!
