In Case You Think I'm Getting Shallow

While i've been talking about myself these past few days, some really big things have been happening in the world.

Let me just say that i can't bear to watch the news about Japan for more than about 2 minutes, so talking about it is even harder.  I just keep praying that God will have mercy and let His name be glorified in all of this terror.  My heart is very much crying for the people of Japan.  I just don't have anything profound to say about it.

In other news, i just realized it's St. Patrick's day, so if you're going to be around those people who think it's cute to pinch people because it's March 17th, don't forget to wear green.  And please don't pinch people.  I hate being pinched.

In other other news, Happy Birthday to my Aunt Ruthie.

    I don't think you're the least bit shallow. But evidently my daughter thinks I am. I told her that I donate blood so I can get Nutter Butter cookies as my reward. I SHOULD be doing it to help people, true, but its really the cookies. I'm sorry.

    Robin, if you want, i'll show you how to get nutter butters without all the blood, and then you can give blood just to help people. ;) LOL

Let's Break Bread

Let me start by saying that i am NOT an expert in bread-making.  I like to make bread, and my husband likes me to make bread, and i have messed up a lot of bread.  Also i have done a lot of reading and experimenting to learn how to stop messing up the bread. This i will share with you. Today i made basic white bread from a very old Betty Crocker cook book, and i took pictures for you. Every yeast bread recipe made with kneaded dough has certain elements to it, and the following very few tips can be used with any of them......no matter what the recipe says you should do. Ridiculous Ads for $100 Please

If you use Facebook, you may have noticed a vertical row of advertisements on the right hand column of your profile page that can be very entertaining. If you're not a Facebook user, please keep reading, i'll fill you in. Here's one of those ads: The heading reads "Women Born in 70s Look 25" . First of all, i take issue with that particular phenomenon being very miraculous, but let me know how this works for you. When i click on this link i learn about a middle-aged woman named Cara, who used to have wrinkles. Cara was 43 years old (NOT born in the 70s) when she stumbled upon a miracle cure for aging and wrinkles, blah, blah, blah. The most interesting thing about Cara is that she just happens to live in Coldspring, Texas. Can you believe it? I live in Coldspring, Texas!
