Bunny Update and Rain

You might recall that when i went back to work, we decided to give up our bunnies - and admit defeat.  Well, i sold them to a good friend who wanted to get started with bunnies, and she has found success!  Molly and Oliver, on their second try, have made this beautiful little herd of white bunnies.

O.k., well, i've been trying for two days to upload a really cute picture of lots of white bunnies, but i have been unsuccessful.  I'm sorry.  Just try to imagine lots of cuteness.

Also, here in the heart of drought-land, we got lots of rain yesterday, and we are very pleased.  Sadly, we don't know when we'll get rain again, but we're all thinking positive rainy thoughts, and i think that the deluge we had yesterday must have helped to contain the wildfires that have been multiplying in these parts.

So, this is my hurried mid-week update, while i swallow my eggs and gulp my coffee.  I hope you enjoy a little.

Let's Break Bread

Let me start by saying that i am NOT an expert in bread-making.  I like to make bread, and my husband likes me to make bread, and i have messed up a lot of bread.  Also i have done a lot of reading and experimenting to learn how to stop messing up the bread. This i will share with you. Today i made basic white bread from a very old Betty Crocker cook book, and i took pictures for you. Every yeast bread recipe made with kneaded dough has certain elements to it, and the following very few tips can be used with any of them......no matter what the recipe says you should do. Ridiculous Ads for $100 Please

If you use Facebook, you may have noticed a vertical row of advertisements on the right hand column of your profile page that can be very entertaining. If you're not a Facebook user, please keep reading, i'll fill you in. Here's one of those ads: The heading reads "Women Born in 70s Look 25" . First of all, i take issue with that particular phenomenon being very miraculous, but let me know how this works for you. When i click on this link i learn about a middle-aged woman named Cara, who used to have wrinkles. Cara was 43 years old (NOT born in the 70s) when she stumbled upon a miracle cure for aging and wrinkles, blah, blah, blah. The most interesting thing about Cara is that she just happens to live in Coldspring, Texas. Can you believe it? I live in Coldspring, Texas!
