52 Tuesdays

This morning, on my way to work, i realized that this is the first week of 2013.  (I'm a little slow sometimes.) What i mean is that i remembered that i have made a semi-public commitment to doing certain things every week this year, and it's already Thursday, and i haven't fulfilled any of my weekly commitments yet.

Conveniently, i next remembered that the first day of the new year was on Tuesday.  

Excellent!

Thus, my weekly challenge weeks shall be measured between Tuesdays.  52 of them.

As far as i can tell, there are five of you who still regularly read my posts, my parents, my best friend, and two of my favorite internet blogging friends.  I hope i'm not boring y'all too badly.  I'm hoping that this new theme will help me to work my writing muscles that have gotten very lazy, and possibly make the reading some more fun.

But if not, i think that this is something i have to do for me, for the uplifting and coming to life-ness of my own self.  Well, not my self, exactly.  Maybe more my being about not-so-much just my self.

Let's Break Bread

Let me start by saying that i am NOT an expert in bread-making.  I like to make bread, and my husband likes me to make bread, and i have messed up a lot of bread.  Also i have done a lot of reading and experimenting to learn how to stop messing up the bread. This i will share with you. Today i made basic white bread from a very old Betty Crocker cook book, and i took pictures for you. Every yeast bread recipe made with kneaded dough has certain elements to it, and the following very few tips can be used with any of them......no matter what the recipe says you should do. Ridiculous Ads for $100 Please

If you use Facebook, you may have noticed a vertical row of advertisements on the right hand column of your profile page that can be very entertaining. If you're not a Facebook user, please keep reading, i'll fill you in. Here's one of those ads: The heading reads "Women Born in 70s Look 25" . First of all, i take issue with that particular phenomenon being very miraculous, but let me know how this works for you. When i click on this link i learn about a middle-aged woman named Cara, who used to have wrinkles. Cara was 43 years old (NOT born in the 70s) when she stumbled upon a miracle cure for aging and wrinkles, blah, blah, blah. The most interesting thing about Cara is that she just happens to live in Coldspring, Texas. Can you believe it? I live in Coldspring, Texas!
